Kayla Mayo Evans

Hi, my name is Kayla Mayo-Evans and I am a senior attending Charles R. Drew Charter School.  I have been a student at Drew charter since 6th Grade.  When I graduate from Drew, I plan on attending a University with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Environmental Studies.  In my free time, I participate in Varsity Track as a Shot-putter and Discus thrower. I have made it to regionals in my first year of doing Track and Field. Along with Track and Field, I also work at the YMCA as a playcenter attendant. I have worked at the YMCA since august 23rd, 2023. Being an employee at the YMCA has taught me about the importance of community and family within the workplace.  

My goals is to become a neurosurgeon. I want to attend Valdosta state University and have a major in neuroscience with a minor in environmental studies. I want to become a neurosurgeon so that way I can honor my sister-in-laws memory.
