STEAM and Social Justice

For this assignment we had to take a selfie and put a quote that we made along with some self identifying traits on it. For my quote I chose "You will only go as far as you will allow". I chose this as my quote because I noticed that I put a lot of restrictive standards on myself. This caused me to be very distant and not take on opportunities that required me being a leader or 'stepping up' to the plate. I hope that this quote can be inspiration for others to go beyond the standards you may place on yourself.

For this assignment, we had to look at a reading which talked about how Georgians felt about the recent ban on abortion. We then had to make a infographic with the answers that we found within the reading.

Justice Visual Board , Sankofa performance , Space is the new place, and woman in Steam and Social Justice. I enjoyed this school year and Mr. Slaughter's teachings.

Sankofa performance.

In my Steam and Social Justice class we had to create a spoken word based off of current world issues. My partner (Kelsey) and I decided to speak on Gun violence within the Black community and Teens specifically. What learned from this performance is that the average black teen has seen, held, and/or touched a gun more than any other race. I also learned that black teens are more likely to die by a gun before any other race. I will use this performance as advocacy for gun rights in america.
