This PBL project we recreated Picasso's Guernica using our own personal social issue/conflicts. My group choose to do the us adapting Oligarchy ideas and policies in these recent years. Essentially making decisions that only benefit the 1% like billionaires and large companies while ignoring the working class. This projects connects Art, Chemistry, And Geometry
I drew a portrait of a well known character in animation in cubism fashion. Cubism made me break a person/character down into their simple shapes which made them look simplified. the shape easiest to use where triangles but the hardest to incorporate were pyramids. using geometry really simplifies the overall aspects of art and drawing. We did this to further understand the cubist art style Picasso used in his own Guernica while also further developing our understanding of geometric shapes.
For world literature we made propaganda posters to go along with our PBL theme of world conflicts portrayed in the Guernica style. For my poster I did Oligarchy government that controls nations and only care about the needs of a little wealthy rather than the good of their whole nation
for world literature we made PSA to talk about world conflicts we were assigned group memeber and I worked with madysin, cyla, evererick, and laila to complete this project. We choose the conflict of our group member madysin which was gang violence. We decided to specifically highlight gang violence in the USA since it can often go unnoticed since people tend to think its not as big of a probelm anymore.
