This PBL project we recreated Picasso's Guernica using our own personal social issue/conflicts. My group choose to do the us adapting Oligarchy ideas and policies in these recent years. Essentially making decisions that only benefit the 1% like billionaires and large companies while ignoring the working class. This projects connects Art, Chemistry, And Geometry
Our PBL project explored the essential question: How can we create a sustainable and inclusive food system that promotes cultural diversity, health, and social equity? To engage with this topic creatively, we combined art and science by working with pottery clay using slip and slab techniques. Inspired by Caribbean culture, we crafted small ceramic pieces that symbolized the scarcity and unequal distribution of food across the world. By applying chemical glazes and firing the pieces in a kiln, we connected artistic expression with scientific processes, highlighting how art can be a powerful tool for social commentary. This interdisciplinary approach allowed us to reflect on the global food crisis while honoring cultural traditions and promoting awareness of sustainability and equity in food systems.
