when our senior year started, we decieded to split our grade up and we do different things for the community down town. Downtown has a high population of low income people and also a lot of homeless people are located down there. we decided to do a good deed and pass out food and go to the gateway and organize a few things for their staffs because they had little help.
Volunteering means giving your time and effort to help others or support a cause without expecting to be paid. It can include things like helping at a shelter, working at community events, tutoring, or supporting local organizations. At its core, volunteering is about making a positive impact and contributing to your community.
Drew likely requires 100 hours of volunteer service to help students grow beyond academics. Volunteering teaches responsibility, empathy, and leadership, while also helping students understand real-world issues and the needs of others. It encourages you to step outside your comfort zone, connect with your community, and develop important life skills. Overall, the requirement is meant to shape students into more well-rounded, compassionate, and socially aware individuals.
