Portfolio pitch: The Sundiata Project
Artifact:
The project I am presenting is my project about Sundiata Keita, the founder of the Mali Empire. In this project, I created work that explains who Sundiata was, how he became a leader, and why he was important in West African history.
Purpose:
The goal of this project was to learn about the history of the Mali Empire and understand how Sundiata Keita overcame challenges to unite his people and build a powerful kingdom.
Process:
For this project, I researched information about Sundiata Keita, including his early life, the obstacles he faced, and how he eventually became king. I organized my information, wrote about the important events in his life, and explained why his story is still remembered today.
Growth:
Through this project, I improved my research and writing skills. I also learned more about African history and how leaders like Sundiata Keita helped shape powerful civilizations like the Mali Empire.

It's an oral tradition, passed down for generations, recounting Sundiata's rise from a disabled child to a powerful ruler who united various Mandinka clans and defeated his rivals, The epic is a blend of history and legend, showcasing themes of destiny and the building of a great empire.

In Ms. Klein class, we did a project dealing with a book we read called "Sundiata" which was about Sundiata who a quasi -mythological biography of King Sundiata Ke, who founded the Mali Empire, which lasted from 1235 to 1400. The poem is also a central cultural narrative of the Mandinka people, who today live throughout Mali, Guinea (gi-nee), and the Ivory Coast. Sundiata first appeared in written Arabic in the late 1800s

I chose these scene because it was the most memorable & also this scene was my favorite because this scene was unforgettable. this scene explained when his mom becoming upset because he wasn't developed like most kids his age and made him feel bad about his self & he took what she said to the heart but instead of giving up and listening to what everybody else was saying he went to become successful and finally feel like he wasn't letting his mom down. I most definitely feel though this is a lesson for the viewers because don't doubt anybody because in the future you don't know could happen to them or how they feel about what you said about them so don't ever talk down on anyone or doubt them.
