Chemistry/ Art Portion

In this project we researched and found significance in different symbols. In Visual Arts we learned how to create crystals and make paper to form our symbols. The symbols I created were based on Atlanta the city I live and the world I live in (societal issues). I liked this project because we could explore how anything could be a symbol and the why behind it. I also enjoyed finding the chemistry in the making of paper and the christalization of our symbols. Next time I think I would probably make more paper and explore more colors to better execute my paper symbol.

ELA I AM POEM & World History Ornament

For the ELA portion, we dug deep into our roots and who we are to create a poem centered around ourselves. In World History we were given different practices to represent on the outside with 5 symbols that represented that same culture on the inside. The religion we were given was animism which is the practice of believing that everything in nature has a soul or is living.

Science Portion

In this portion of this project, we were able to research different elements and how they were related to trees. One of the things we did were going down to the Pre-K students and informing them of what we were learning about trees and prior knowledge. We had an activity along with it to be interactive. We also used Tinkerkad and a 3D printer to use the researched molecule we were given and create a model of it. I loved how we were able to use science in the world around us and use the things we were learning about ionic and covalent bonds to apply to our project.

Change is Gonna Come PBL

Kaelyn Myers - Change is Gonna Come 2023

In this PBL we focused on the question What do you believe would cause another world war? I believe that oppression would start another world war. In today's society people stand up for what they believe in and do not want to be silenced so if there was oppression once again people would go to war.

Spanish Propoganda Poster

For the spanish portion of our 2nd semester PBL we made propoganda posters on school causes we believed in. We were learning about the chicano revolution and how they stood up for themselves. In relation to our PBL we have been talking about movements that could start a war and what people used during wars to protest such as propoganda.
