As the captain of my baseball team, I have taken on the responsibility of leading by example both on and off the field. Baseball has taught me that it is a game of failure, and through that, I have learned how to stay composed, push through adversity, and keep my team motivated no matter the situation. One of my proudest moments was being part of the first playoff team in school history and helping lead us to the second round after a hard fought 10 inning game. I focus on bringing energy, accountability, and consistency every day, knowing my team looks to me in big moments. Being a captain has shaped me into a stronger leader and competitor, and it continues to push me to grow as both a player and a person.
Through founding and leading the #Blessed Bible Club, I created a space where students could come together to grow in their faith and have real, honest conversations about life and God. Not having a community I felt like I could lean on previously propelled me to create my own community. I organized and led weekly Bible studies during club times on Wednesdays, encouraged open discussion, and helped build a strong sense of community among members. The club became more than just meetings, it turned into a support system where students felt comfortable, encouraged, and spiritually strengthened. Leading #Blessed showed me the impact of faith-driven leadership and how powerful it is to bring people together with purpose.
I work at Chipotle, where I’ve developed strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment. Whether I’m preparing food, taking orders, or helping customers, I’ve learned how to stay focused under pressure and keep things running smoothly during busy shifts. This experience has also taught me the value of serving others with a positive attitude and being dependable, helping me grow both personally and professionally.
'In this photo a mixture of my immediate family and cousins are ordering chipotle and im making their bowls. It was awesome because my entire family and extended family paid me a visit while working!
I am a Peer Leader at my school, where I help guide and support 9th grade students both inside and outside the classroom. In this role, I work with my partner Zeuri Anderson-Jackson to create a positive environment by encouraging others, leading by example, and helping new students adjust to high school. Peer Leadership has taught me the importance of communication, patience, and being someone others can rely on. It has helped me grow not just as a student, but as a leader who wants to make a real impact on those around me.
This picture is from the "Ubutu Retreat" where we got the amazing opportunity to travel with the 9th graders to a camp and spend the day bonding together doing activities like Moonball, Pizza Pirate, etc.
I am currently an intern at my school, where I work closely with our principal, Dr. Myers, helping manage and grow his social media presence. Through this role, I create content that highlights the culture, achievements, and unity within our school community. One of our most viral posts featured the African American male teachers in our building, showcasing the strength, mentorship, and representation they bring to students every day. This experience has shown me how powerful storytelling can be and how special it is to be part of a community that uplifts and supports one another.
My Theatre Pathway has helped me grow in confidence, creativity, and communication. Through different performances and class activities, I have learned how to express myself, work with others, and step outside of my comfort zone. Theatre has taught me the importance of preparation, focus, and being able to adapt in the moment. It has also strengthened my ability to speak clearly and connect with an audience. Overall, this pathway has played a big role in helping me develop skills that I can use both on stage and in everyday life.
