Huelga

In Spanish, we were tasked with picking an issue we wanted to protest. After some thinking, my class and I chose to protest about shorter school days and shorter school years. After we decided on our issue, we learned three phrases: Huelga (Strike), Si se puede (Yes we can), and lastly, Viva la causa (Live for the cause) and we responded with Viva. We made propaganda posters to get our peer's attention. Once we made our posters, we went outside and protested.

For this assignment, we were tasked with writing a book. It started off simple; we just had to add a few pages each week and include the literary elements we were learning at the time, like figurative language. As the weeks passed, it grew into a full story with developed characters, a setting, and a real plot. Then, in February, I finished writing my very first book. It took a lot of hard work and many late nights, but I loved it in the end. I enjoyed being able to pull from my personal life and turn it into a mystery while also incorporating elements from some of my favorite shows and movies.

I am Poem

For this assignment, we were asked to create a poem called “I Am Poem.” This poem reflects on our childhood and the experiences, memories, and qualities that make us who we are today. It should capture our personality, emotions, and the things that have shaped our identity.

The Joy Luck Club Lesson Plan

In the course of working on this project, we were entrusted with giving lessons on the chapters that had been allotted to us. My eyes were opened by the experience of doing this project to all of the inventive things teachers must go through to keep a class engaged while teaching. Doing this task and reading the book were quite enjoyable experiences for me. The Joy Luck Club has given me a new perspective on Chinese culture thanks to its insights. Reading the book gave me more of a range of feelings, and it gave me more opportunities to utilize my imagination, so overall, I found that experience to be more enjoyable than seeing the movie.

Stain Glass Project

For our final in geometry, we are making a stained glass painting. We are incorporating the shapes parallelogram, rectangles, rhombus, square, and two congruent triangles to design our painting. The inspection for my design was the rose in Beauty and the Beast. Three elements of art in my painting are Line, Shape, and Color. Three principles of design are Variety, Unity, and Emphasis. Using the shapes parallelogram, rectangles, rhombus, square, and two congruent triangles, we can use the information we learned about proofs to create the perfect angles and measurements for the shapes.

Our professor assigned us the intriguing and thought-provoking task of creating a painting that reflects a real-world issue for this particular assignment. Not only was it essential to create a stunning work of art, but also to convey a message through it. We were required to delve deeply into the prevalent social issues and develop something that could raise viewers' awareness or stimulate their emotions. Choosing a subject for my painting was quite tricky, as innumerable problems affect humanity in various ways. After conducting research and deliberating, I decided to paint about abortion rights, one of the most urgent problems we face today.

"ChemVAS" Typography

As part of this assignment, we were tasked with constructing the word "CHEMVAS" out of various tools that we had learned about in earlier classes. This was a very enjoyable exercise in which participants learned how to use a variety of tools, such as pens, stamps, and spirographs, each of which had its own unique challenges.In addition to that, the second activity that we carried out was to exercise our letter-writing skills by making use of illustrations that we discovered on Google. This was the second thing that we did. My participation in this activity brought me a great deal of enjoyment as well as a sense of accomplishment.

Deeply Rooted Art Final

Second-quarter class project Deeply Rooted explored the question, "How might symbols express cultural differences and similarities?" throughout the whole grade. We studied how symbols are used in different cultures and developed icons that we feel best represent our contemporary selves. We used Borax crystals and handmade paper we prepared in art class to construct symbols. It was important to me to have a Zodiac sign that reflected the month I was born, so I settled on Leo. Although I had some trouble bending the paper, I learned that making a larger, more visually striking PBL is possible with careful planning and execution. The day of the presentation showcased both our art and performances highlighting many cultures from across the globe.

In Chemvas, we were tasked to create many drawings using charcoal. Completing this was more challenging than it seemed. Charcoal is very messy, and you could mess up the whole drawing with one wrong line. Overall I had an amazing time learning about the history of charcoal and being able to create art with it.

It's All Elementry

For this assignment, we were tasked to creat an artist piece based on the element we were assigned to. my element was Carbon.

Ceramics

This piece of artwork is meant to symbolize the chemical element nickel, which has the atomic number 28 and the symbol Ni. This piece of artwork was created using clay as the medium. I used two pieces of clay to create the three-dimensional appearance of the symbol, the atomic number, and the coins. I wanted the tile's hue to convey the tarnished impression of an old coin, therefore I picked that color.

Density Paint Pour

During the course of the experiment, we were tasked with finding how pouring paint on a canvas can assist with the change in density. This determination was made in the context of the experiment. This has to be done in order for us to be able to reach our own judgments. When pouring, the color that has a consistency that is thicker is the one that stands out the most because it has a more dense . We may make the assumption that blue has a higher concentration than the other colors do since blue is the color that stands out the most in this picture, and because blue is the color that stands out the most, we could infer that blue has a higher density than the other colors do.
