What does it mean to volunteer? Why would Drew require you volunteer for 100 hours during your high school career?
Volunteering is an essential way to give back to the community and bridge the gap that often exists within it. It helps make our world a better place for everyone. At Drew Academy, students are required to complete 100 hours of volunteer work. I believe this requirement is crucial as it encourages students to become active members of their community and exposes them to the importance of creating order and peace in public spaces.
At Westside Future Fund, my fellow interns and I take on a variety of tasks. Sometimes, we lead clean-up efforts at dump sites, distribute Thanksgiving meals to families, wrap presents for children, or assist at local schools. We engage in numerous activities aimed at supporting the Westside community in Georgia.
