In this project, we 3D printed our own key-chain engraved with our initials. The process began with brainstorming ideas for the key-chain, logo's, designs, and other small things. We would then create a TinkerCAD of this idea, which involved us creating 3D shapes on software to create our original idea. We essentially continued this process until perfection, which would then lead to the final step. We would convert that into a software which go directly to the 3D printer, before printing the key-chain.
I learned lots of new skills from this assignment, mainly how to use certain types of hardware to 3D print, as it is becoming much more mainstream. I also learned how to 3D print, which is a huge thing, because as I said, this process is becoming much more popular and soon will end the need for regular printing. I chose this project because it is one that caught my attention very much because it appeals to my interest in the sense of hands on activities.
In this project, we created our own corn hole board, included with sensor activated lights. The first steps included making measurements for the wood. Next, we cut our wood to match our requirements. Next, we sanded our wood so that it would be ready for construction. Our next step was nailing everything together, and creating our hole. Next, we painted our board the colors we chose. After this, we measured out the holes for the lights, and drilled holes for them. Next, we installed our lights and over a very long amount of time, we slowly got everything to work, and finally put it on display to be sold.
Probably the most important thing that I learned from this activity was teamwork. This project would absolutely not be possible without contributions from everyone on the team. It showed how this very important part of life contributes to day to day things, in this case, handiwork and woodcraft. I really enjoyed the entire process of this build, and even though we stumped a lot and had a lot of problems, we eventually came out on top and succeeded. I chose this project because of how it allowed me to test my skills of creation and sales.
