La Ceiba Tree
For this PBL (Project Based Learning) project our class was tasked with learning about the Ceiba Trees and their significance to Mayan culture. We explained the history and symbolism of the trees, characteristics, what the trees contain, what they produce, parts of the trees, and what they provide for humans.
Un Viaje Unolividable
For "Un Viaje Unolividable" which translates to "An Unforgettable Trip", we were assigned to be Colombian natives traveling across 3 different Spanish-Speaking countries. The trips were over a span of 2 months and we were only given 5,000 dollars to work with. Along with calculating spending in USD we also had to subtract what we spent in COP, Colombian pesos. While in the countries we were required to find a place to stay and a way to get there rather that was backpacking, kayaking, or flying.
Spanish Propaganda
During this project, myself and a group wrote about why we feel that uniforms should not be required at our school. After writing these we made posters inspired by older propaganda endorsements of the 1920s during wartime. My poster is expressing that we should not stop expression. By requiring all students to wear the same uniform, we are deprived of expression through clothing which is a big thing for many who simply just want to share their feeling and be heard.
