9th Grade: Finding My Place Early
I walked into high school with a mix of excitement, nerves, and a quiet confidence that I would figure things out. Even though everything was new, I didn’t feel lost for long. I was ready to get involved and see where I fit.
I threw myself into both academics and cheer while also staying open to trying new things along the way. That balance became a defining part of my year. Some of my proudest moments came from earning Highest Academic Honors while also stepping into leadership as JV Cheer Captain and being named Ms. JV Cheerleading.
Beyond the achievements, what made the year meaningful were the connections I built. I found a strong friend group through cheer and formed friendships with upperclassmen that have lasted to this day. While the year itself went smoothly, I was intentional about surrounding myself with the right people and staying out of unnecessary drama. That decision shaped my experience more than anything else.
Over time, I grew more outgoing and learned how to balance my responsibilities without feeling overwhelmed. I also started to better understand who I am and where I belong.
By the end of the year, I felt motivated for what was ahead and still curious about what I had yet to discover. 9th grade did not just start my high school experience. It gave me a strong foundation to build on.
