9th Grade Literature Project 1: Empathy project collage

"The Lost Soldier"

For our first 9th grade literature was based on the book, “The Odyssey”. We did an empathy collage to connect the book to real world problems. Our project compared how black soldiers and Odysseus are alike.In the Odyssey, Odysseus was gone for 20 years and when he came back Odysseus came back with Post Traumatic stress Disorder, also known as PTSD. We know this due to Odysseus being nervous and him not trusting people. These are signs that soldiers that have PTSD go through when they have came home.Odysseus was technically a soldier, due to him being in the Trojan War. but on his way home, He went through many dangerous obstacles, leaving just him alive. This caused him to have some mental issues that could be a cause of PTSD. This can also be for soldiers as well. When soldiers come home, they can have some flashbacks of their friends dying or they can be very scared of when a door because, one time an enemy stormed in when the door was closed killing a lot of people.Like Odysseus in the Odyssey, people can have PTSD too. In everyday life, you will see some people who have been through some things and are not 100 percent in the mind, but it is alright as long as you treat them equally.

Engineering project 1

the picture below is my first ever project in engineering. On the left side is the prototype and on the right is the fina project. The prototype has a square base of 3cm x 3cm.The final project has a base of 6cmx 6cm. I chose to make this shape I thought it looked pretty cool. I also thought that this would be good with some lights on it. In the end, the pyramid will have lights that i programmed myself.
