In American literature, we 7learned about ancient communities and myths of the Native American Cultures. Stories such as "The World on a Turtle's Back", by the Iroquois and the "Coyote story" by the Okanogan tribe help shape this community through tradition. I personally like these stories as they are aimed for kids and inclusive for everyone to learn. While learning about these myths, we learned about certain roles such as the trickster and provider. These roles helped us shape our personal myth.
We created a personal myth about the origin of any concept or item. We were required to have one trickster and an anthropomorphic character.
For my video, I decided to use pictures to bring my myth to life. I used pictures such as my dog as the character in the story
In this assignment, we were grouped in 4s. We were told to recite a poem as well as add music to the poem to add meaning and the music should be corresponding to the tone of the poem choice. We decided to play a softer kind of music in order to match the theme of the poem. This ties into the unit of Romanticism that we recently have learned, which emerged in the 18th and 19th century through adding purpose and feeling into writing and poetry. Some figures of romanticism include Edgar Allen Poe and Emily Dickenson.
s the year comes to a close, we were given the freedom to choose our own path In a project with a creative choice board. I decided to do a author study on the rapper, fashion designer, and executive Kanye Omari West. I chose this person because he has been relevant in American culture and is one of the worlds most notable figures regardless of his antics that some people may perceive from him
