GUERNICA PROJECT ONE LOVE 4/23/24
The Guernica Project focused n Picasso's Guernica piece that was created as a symbol for the anti-war movement as well as the Spanish Republican Government. The time period in which this piece was created was one of total wars and brutal acts against humanity. The piece depicts the horrendous effects of war and what a war could look like for civilians and those without political power. This year's topic for the class of 2026's Guernica Project was One Love which promotes world peace and brings attention to the issues and conflicts that are present in today's society. We had an assignment for each of our core classes to contribute to the project which all included extensive research to carry out the assignment.
In World Literature we created pieces of propaganda about a selected topic of our choice. For this assignment I chose police brutality. This topic of police brutality also carried out into my projects for other classes such as my actual Guernica painting.
