My name is Ayo McGregor I am a part of the class of 2026 of Drew Charter School. My hobbies include creating art, dancing, traveling, and reading. I am actively involved in my community, and I've participated in events like feeding the homeless, civil rights protests, and many more. I am a big fan of nature and all things to do with nature, and I love visiting museums across the country.
As a senior, I envision a career that blends creativity with healing. In other words, I plan to become an art therapist. Art has always been a powerful outlet for me while dealing with my anxiety, a way to express what words sometimes cannot. I want to help others find that same peace and release through artistic expression. Whether it's painting, drawing, or creating something entirely new to admire from afar, art can soothe the soul and open pathways to emotional healing. I’m deeply passionate about using art as a tool for wellness, especially in disadvantaged communities where mental health support is often limited. I want my work to bring light, comfort, and confidence to those who need it most. I believe this scholarship can propel me forward and mitigate the barriers that separate me from pursuing higher education.
