Columbian Exchange Cook - Off
This was an Columbian Exchange cook-off project, where we prepared a dish using only ingredients from the Western Hemisphere. The purpose of this project was to understand the historical significance of the Columbian Exchange while also developing cooking and teamwork skills under specific limitations. During the process, I was responsible for preparing the potatoes and managing the timing to ensure that all parts of the dish were finished at the same time. I also helped make French fries and focused on making sure everything was cooked properly. One challenge I faced was not being able to use any seasonings, which required me to rely on cooking techniques like browning and texture to bring out the natural flavors of the food.
Through this project, I improved my time management, organization, and ability to work efficiently under pressure. I also learned how to adapt to challenges and prepare food with limited ingredients, which helped build my confidence in the kitchen.
In this presentation, me and my group members, Zion Bandy- Douglas and Kamiyah Fleming talked about the causes of World War 2 and the technologies compared from World War 1. The main causes of World War 2 was the treaty of Versailles, Economic Depression, Failure of League of Nations, etc.
