What does it mean to volunteer? Why would Drew require you volunteer for 100 hours during your high school career?
I began volunteering for a group called Real Talk Let's Talk during my senior year of high school. The main objective of the nonprofit organization is for me to give back my time to my city by volunteering at State Farm Arena and Mercedes Benz Stadium. Being able to volunteer inside State Farm Arena and Mercedes Benz Stadium has allowed me to be in a positive vibe setting. Racism is one of the many problems that exist on this planet. When people of different ethnicities come out to support their favorite NFL team or NBA team, it's as if a fraternal relationship is developed, which is unremarkable. Outside of the stadium, it's difficult to discover instances where two different races set their colors aside to form a bond. Being in an environment where disagreements and differences are set aside for the greater good forms a positive light of something unremarkable. Being a volunteer provides an experience in which I have given my time to give back for a good purpose. Taking on volunteer projects and participating in events in which you are doing it because you want to gain experience and overcome challenges. Drew has required students to complete 100 hours of volunteer because it simply benefits the student in the long run and allows them to know how to work with others and to be helpful.
