Ancient Civilization PBL

We have been learning about Ancient Civilization and architecture, and we were required to build a structure out of bamboo. I observed my peers working hard, and we were innovative on our design. I learned what it was like working with sticks to build a shelter, and this project has proved to me that Ancient builders must have been very talented to build with minimal tools, it was very difficult to make our structure stable.

Columbian Exchange Reflection

What is the columbian Exchange?

The Columbian Exchange is the trade of plants, technology, animals, and disease between the New World and Old World.

What defining events caused the onset of exchange?

The discovery of the Americas while trying to find better trade routes to India.

Explain three items that was transferred/exposed to the other hemisphere. 

Avocado, cashews, and vanilla were transferred from the Americas to the Old World.

Name one meal that you love that includes ingredients from the two different hemispheres. 

Vanilla ice cream is a food I love from both, as it contains dairy from cows but vanilla from the Americas.

Explain what you did in the PBL project to help your group. 

I cooked all of the ham and cut the apples, as well as set the display for the food and helped make the oatmeal.
