Adaeze Ezuma-Igwe was selected to perform in the world premiere of Camofluers. Her name will be in the published script as part of the original cast. She rehearsed every day during the week of festival (and STILL garnered three superiors for her events!!)

AND OF COURSE, we presented LIVIN' IT UP ON TOP from HADESTOWN in front of 5,000 people. We garnered a standing ovation after, and I was pulled often during the festival to discuss our production and excitement over future productions we will put up at DSA!

Douglas Graves has been inducted into the North Carolina Theatre Educator Hall of Fame, honoring a career defined by passion, mentorship, and an unwavering commitment to the transformative power of theatre. Over the years, Graves has inspired countless students to find their voice on and off the stage, blending artistic excellence with a deep dedication to education. From producing work that is brave and challenging, to teaching 6-8th graders the power of Shakespeare and how to travel a production to competitions, Graves has always inspired young artists about the art, care, and FUN one must have to tell a story.
This recognition celebrates both his lasting impact on theatre education across the state and the legacy he continues to build through his students and colleagues.
The Morehead-Cain Foundation is proud to announce the 2026 Impact Educators honored by semifinalists for the Morehead-Cain Class of 2030.
The Impact Educator initiative, launched in 2023, recognizes K–12 educators worldwide who are shaping tomorrow’s change-makers. High school seniors at Morehead-Cain’s semifinalist level select these teachers and mentors for their positive influence on students’ lives and leadership development.
