WGU is an online, nonprofit university created to make affordable, high-quality education more accessible. WGU offers a wide variety of bachelor's programs in education to help students prepare for an exciting and rewarding career in the classroom. If you're considering becoming a teacher, WGU can help you reach your goal in a way that works for you. A bachelor's degree in education can have many specialties that allow you to focus on and prepare for specialty licensure, so it's important to know what kind of grade and subject you want to teach.
WGU is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to offer federal student aid in all of our degree programs. Because of our more affordable tuition, WGU students are able to graduate without large amounts of student debt to repay. If you qualify for and accept federal student aid, it will cover most, if not all, of your direct education expenses.

It allows you to determine how fast you advance through your degree program - you can take assessments and prove mastery of the material as soon as you're ready. If you can dedicate extra time to your studies, or draw on existing knowledge and experience, you can accelerate your time to graduation, saving both time and money.
As part of your program you will complete student teaching. Student teaching is an important element of a bachelor's degree in education that prepares you for actual work in the classroom. In student teaching, you work with a licensed educator inside a classroom to understand what it is really like to work with students every day.
