Hello and welcome to our class's homepage!

Welcome to 5th grade! I am Mrs. Crystal Gotaas and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! This will be my 14th year teaching- my 2nd as a Kaiser Leopard. I have a wonderful husband, Lars, and two great kids, Marley (6) and Myles (2)... oh and I can’t forget our pup, Zelda (6). This summer we spent most of our time either hiking, paddle boarding, or playing in our backyard. We love to be outside adventuring and Colorado has so much to see! I am looking forward to creating some unforgettable memories with you as we embark on your last year in elementary school!

In 5th grade you will complete literacy novel studies about human rights, biodiversity and the rain forest, and the Impact of Sports in American Culture. In math we will delve deep into lots of math concepts such as: multiplication, division, fractions, and geometry. In science we will be starting a new curriculum called Amplify and will study the solar system, ecosystems, and matter and its properties.
