Welcome Back to School Kaiser Families!
Hello! Hola! Guten tag! Nin hao! Asalaam alaikum!
My name is Ms. O’Malley. I am from Chicago, Illinois and moved to Denver, Colorado just over one year ago. Chicago is a really neat city with many skyscrapers and people from all of the world. I loved living there! Colorado is also a beautiful place! Here, I love hiking and camping in the mountains.
In all places, I love running, eating well, reading and volunteering. Here in Denver, I volunteer for an organization that helps refugee families--If you don't know what a refugee is, just ask! It is really important to be kind to all people. You also never know when you'll need help one day!
Aside from being outdoors and trying to live a healthy lifestyle, I also enjoy people! My family is extremely important to me. I visit and video chat with them as much as I can. I also enjoy meeting new people and making friends. I am even in a book club with some other Kaiser teachers!
All about Fourth Grade: In literacy, we will read a poetry book, a non-fiction book, and a historical fiction book. While reading, we will learn about claims + evidence, main ideas + details, summaries, grammar, vocabulary, and so much more! // In math, we will learn about place value, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. In our mini-math units, we will learn about geometry and time. // In science, we will learn about Energy Conversions, Earth’s Features, and Waves, Energy, & Information. // In social studies, we will learn about the geography and history of Colorado. // During morning meetings, we will discuss health topics (healthy eating, exercise, sleep, etc.), as well as social justice topics.
