US History
Students will trace the origin and development of those ideas, principles, values and institutions, which characterize the American experience. The time span is from the Pre-Slavery era to the present
The cultures and contributions of minorities to this country's history are an integral part of this course.
World History
The course helps students from connections between diverse areas of the world using the themes of trade, migration, and centers of world power. The course emphasizes the development of reading, writing, analytical and research skills necessary for understanding historical materials.
Personal Finance
In this course students will examine economic decision-making, compare basic features of different economic systems, and understand the role of government in taxes and services. We will also explore some elements of personal finance such as investing, saving, and credit.
Ethnic and Gender Studies
This course provides a historical survey of various cultural minorities in the United States. Emphasis will be placed on minorities' achievements in and contributions to their country's development. Included among the minorities examined are Native Americans, Chicano/Mexican Americans, and African Americans.
