Music

Choir

This course will introduce students to basic, proper singing techniques and vocal health. Students will learn to work together in a large ensemble and learn the basics of music theory, music performance, music creation, and musical response at a music CAS Music Skills Appendix Level

Modern Band

Modern Band is a beginning level, ensemble based class where students learn instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, and piano. Learn how to play popular/modern styles like rock, hip/hop, and electronic music in groups and perform in a concert at the end of the semester.

Guitar

Beginning Guitar provides students the opportunity to play simple melodies and accompaniments on a guitar. Students will learn music theory, history, and development of the modern guitar, literature, and guitar performance techniques.

Music Composition

This course will introduce students to general composition techniques and help students develop compositional skills

Theatre

Theatre Arts

encourages interest in the dramatic arts as an active participant and as an appreciative member of the audience. It also offers training in voice, diction, interpretation, and elements of stage production.

Stagecraft

This year long course is meant to introduce the students to all aspects of Technical Theatre production with multiple hands on opportunities and understanding of basic techniques. Students will participate in all phases of production including research, set construction, safety, design, and business management

Visual

Ceramics 1

This course introduces students to shape, form, design, and a variety of techniques as they relate to the medium of clay. Students will learn terminology and experiment with specific projects such as hand building, throwing, design, and glazing techniques. The design of both functional and sculptural ceramics will be addressed.

Ceramics 2

This course introduces students to shape, form, design, and a variety of techniques as they relate to the medium of clay. Students will learn terminology and experiment with specific projects such as hand building, throwing, design, and glazing techniques. The design of both functional and sculptural ceramics will be addressed. Must have taken Ceramics 1 or speak with teacher

Sculpture

This course will introduce and reinforce basic concepts and principles that are used to produce and appreciate three-dimensional art

Jewelry

This course introduces students to metalsmithing as a jewelry-making process. Emphasis will be placed on design and craftsmanship

Drawing and Painting

the course will emphasize in-depth exploration of texture, pattern, shape, balance and contrast in the development of finished compositions. Personal interpretation and emotional response to work will be encouraged.

Digital Arts and Design 1

Digital Media Design and Production courses teach students the fundamentals of graphic design and production and provide students with the opportunity to apply these principles to printed media, digital presentation media, and interactive media.
