Unit Title: 6.7 We Celebrate the Sacraments (Part 2)
This unit continues the exploration of sacraments in 5.7. Students will explore the sacraments of Marriage and Anointing of the Sick. They will examine the Church as a sacrament and study various vocations as a response to our baptismal call.
Unit 6.8 Advent to Christmas: A time for longing and Fulfilment.
This unit explores the liturgical season of advent as a time of waiting, longing and preparation. The Jesse Tree is introduced and through it the story is told, of people of faith in scripture, who prepared and longed for the coming of the Saviour. The unit focuses on Christmas as the fulfilment of God’s promise of salvation and explores some ways the Catholic community celebrated Christmas.
Unit Title: Lights, Camera Action
In this unit students will develop an understanding of film as a medium to engage audiences. Students will learn about how specific structural and visual language devices are used to engage the viewer. Through the close study of Gnomeo and Juliet, students will identify the types of film techniques used and their intended effect on the viewer.
Unit Title: Collecting, Representing & Interpreting Data, Chance and Mass
Unit Overview: Students will interpret, compare and evaluate data displays. They will assign probabilities and compare outcomes of chance experiments. Lastly, students will convert between units of mass and solve problems associated with mass.
Unit Title: Bits of Brilliance
In this unit, students explore how science and technology has been used to improve our lives, including the warning and detection systems in place for natural disasters. Students will begin to explore the properties of different materials, and will be required to design a sustainable product.
Unit Title: A Diverse and Connected World
Unit Overview: Students will investigate the ways in which Australia is interconnected with other nations, and explore a range of global issues including war and peace, poverty, extreme weather conditions and refugee experiences. Students consider the individual and the national responsibilities of an informed global citizen of the 21st century. Students are encouraged to think about how they can act to facilitate equity and justice for others through their choices and actions.
Unit Title: Growing and Changing, Frisbee Golf and Gaelic Football
Unit Overview: During this unit, students will explore how their body grows and changes including the physical, emotional and social changes that take place during puberty. They will discuss personal identity, relationships and ways to seek help. Within the practical component of the course students will participate in practical lessons focusing on the skills associated with Gaelic Football and Frisbee Golf.

Inclusive Community Project
Students will work on their Inclusive Community Project.
The Inclusive Community Projects are projects students do to make a difference to our community. Students will choose their area of interest for the project. The Project involves students investigating their area, preparing an action, completing the action and reflecting on how they have improved the community. The final component is sharing what they have done.
Year 7 Transition
Students will engage in sessions throughout the term in addition to year 7 orientation day to support their transition into year 7. Whilst students continue in Middle Years, activities support the changes in the environment, learning, sport and daily life. Students will engage in workshops to support research skills, Q&A session with Middle Years Leaders, Day in the Life of a Year 7 Student and team building activities.
Team Building
Students will engage in personalised team building activities to support the development of interpersonal skills in being a part of a team, conflict resolution, sportsmanship and building connections with peers.
