I hope this month's message find you doing well. Here at school, we have been grateful for the recent change in weather, which has allowed students to enjoy outdoor recess. Hopefully, milder temperatures are on the horizon for the month of March.
On Wednesday, February 18 the Dover Area High School students visited NSE to present parts of the musical, Annie. It was exciting to see all of their hard work pay off in what will be a fantastic performance at the end of February. We appreciate Mrs. Brandstadter and the High School's drama department sharing their talents with us.
I want to take a moment to thank our PTO for the work they do to support our students and staff. This tireless group of individuals plans and implements our family fun nights, pays for grade level field trips, supports our staff with wonderful monthly treats, and hosts school events such as Fun Day at the end of the year. They are always looking for more parent volunteers. Those interested are encouraged to attend their monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

March gives us a special opportunity to celebrate the joy and impact of music in our schools. Music helps our students grow in confidence, creativity, teamwork, and self expression, and it is such a gift to watch that growth happen every day.
Please join us for our Annual Music in Our Schools Concert on Wednesday, March 25 at 6:30 PM at Dover High School. Each music teacher has chosen a small group of students to represent their school for this meaningful evening.
Mrs. Haifley is excited to bring a few amazing third grade recorder rock stars to share their hard work and enthusiasm.
We would love to see you there as we celebrate our students and the power of music together. Admission is $2 per person (cash only) and all proceeds support our music department.
March is poison prevention/awareness month. With spring on the way, the Poison Control website has posted pointers in preventing poisonings from common household items. Please visit the following website for more information https://www.poisonhelp.hrsa.gov.
• Keep household cleaning products in original containers and follow directions for use and disposal
• Allow good ventilation when using chemicals by opening windows or using fans
• Stay away from bug and weed killers that have been sprayed for at least an hour
• Wear protective clothing when spraying
• If you suspect someone has been poisoned, call the Poison help line and talk with an expert at 1-800-222-1222. They are open 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
Cough drops-
Students may have cough drops in school however, they must be kept in the nurse's office. A signed note must accompany the cough drops stating that your child has permission to use them as needed.
Clothing-
If your child requires a change of clothing from the nurse during the school day, please make sure to wash and return the clothing to school as soon as possible. We have a limited supply of clothing available. If your child borrowed underwear, they do not need to be returned. Consider placing an extra set of clothing in your child's book bag.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THE SCHOOL HAS CURRENT PHONE NUMBERS! If there are any changes in the emergency contact numbers, please let the school know immediately as this is the only way we have to contact you.
