About Math
The Math curriculum that will be used is Big Ideas Math . There will be plenty of modeling during class time to make sure students are understanding before they are given assignments. Classes will be set up in groups to engage peer tutoring to allow for collaboration and deeper understanding.
We will also be utilizing i-Ready more this year. Students will be required to complete one hour of i-Ready instruction per week to reinforce the concepts and standards we will be covering in class.
Virtual Classroom Expectations:
Attendance: All students must answer the attendance question for EVERY class EVERY day before 2 pm or you will be counted absent. If you comment on the questions after 2 pm, then you will be counted Tardy.
Classwork: will be an everyday requirement. I will upload the homework every day on google classroom by 8 a.m. each morning with the due date listed. Some assignments will be on the Big Ideas website, so if you do not have your login, you HAVE to reach out to me today! I will also be posting homework on the Middle School Scoop page everyday as well. I will also be uploading our lessons onto the google classroom each day in case you missed our lesson.
Worksheets are on google drive and you should be able to “draw” comment boxes and fill in the answers. If that does not work, please just create a doc and put all your answers on there and upload I in google classroom.
iReady: must be completed every week, 70 minutes. If you are having trouble with the lesson, please reach out to me or Mrs. Kelley so that we may be able to walk you through that lesson.
