Parents, when it comes to reading, please note...

There are a variety of genres, reading levels, and maturity levels contained on the shelves of our classroom and school library. Some of those books may be considered PG-13 in content (language, depictions of violence, mild sexuality).

Please talk to your student about your family values, and how those values translate when choosing appropriate reading material. If your student comes across something offensive in a book, instruct him or her to abandon that book and choose something different.

He or she should be reading at home five nights a week for 20 minutes each night. This makes it easy to check what your student is reading. Furthermore, help your student find books that are appropriate and engaging. Below are some resources to help in the search.

The Someday Books Site was created by Stacy Hosek and is added on to by the Doral Academy Middle School students!
