Curriculum Planning & Content Creation

CPCC Virtual Platform - Draft 1

Our Vision

Teacher collaboration, curriculum planning, content creation and resource sharing in the Donegal ETB to support student learning and meet the needs for all learners in the 21st century.

The integration of digital technologies to support classroom learning to motivate students in achieving the learning outcomes and enhance the learner experience.

Our Aims/Approach

Curriculum Planning and Content Creation

This project began in 2016 with the introduction of the new Junior Cycle Programme. The project aims to bring Donegal ETB schools together to collaborate on curriculum planning in designing interactive units of learning to enrich the learning experience of students.

Our units of learning have been developed using Donegal ETB Google Workspace for Education platform:

  • Google Sites - this allows users to Google sites to create websites, utilising a simple drag-and-drop web design tool. Teachers designing a google site for education can embed a wide variety of resources utilising the various applications in creating an interactive online tracking resource.

  • Google Classroom - for the assessment of each unit of learning. Each task on the Google Site is directly linked to Google Classroom to allow students to submit work for assessment as they progress through their learning journey. This forum also allows teacher feedback on the learning.

Our Partners

In March 2017, our project - teacher collaboration, curriculum planning, content creation and resource sharing in the Donegal ETB to support student learning and meet the needs for all learners in the 21st century successfully applied to become one of the clusters of schools participating in The School Digital Excellence Fund. This fund supports clusters of schools who are working together on innovative projects in teaching and learning using digital technologies.

As a consequence we now have additional supports from the PDST and the JCT at our disposal along with the vast amount of experience with the Donegal ETB organisation. We also enjoy a close working relationship with the Donegal ETB Further Education and Training Centres.
