Each level represents a step along the AI integration spectrum, from no AI involvement to fully AI-driven assessment.Â
Level 1: No AI
Students complete assessments entirely without AI assistance, relying solely on their own knowledge, understanding, and skills.
Example: In-class essay written without any AI tools; oral presentations based on personal research.
Level 2: AI Planning
AI is used for brainstorming, creating structures, and generating ideas, but the final work must be student-generated.
Example: Using AI to generate an outline for a research paper, then writing the full paper independently.
Level 3: AI Collaboration
Students use AI tools for refining and editing their work, such as grammar checks or style improvements, while ensuring the content remains their own.
Example: Drafting an essay independently, then using AI for grammar and syntax suggestions.
Level 4: Full AI
AI is used to complete certain components of the assessment, with students critically evaluating and reflecting on the AI-generated content.
Example: Generating a data analysis report using AI tools, followed by a student-written critique of the results.
Level 5: AI Exploration
Students use AI throughout the assessment process, including content generation, with a focus on exploring AI's capabilities and reflecting on its use.
Example: Creating a multimedia project using AI-generated images and text, accompanied by a reflection on the AI's role in the creative process.
