Excemptions and RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

In recognition of prior learning (RPL), students may apply for exemption from modules. TU Dublin is committed to fully complying with the NQAI document: Principles and Operational Guidelines for Recognition of Prior Learning in Further and Higher Education and Training, June 2005 . All details of the operation of this process are available at:

Exemptions

For the MSc in aBIMM, typically exemptions will only apply to the stream modules and to the externally offered modules. All exemptions must be applied for individually by sending the exemption application form, available at http://www.dit.ie/studentservices/feesandgrants/exemptions/), with appropriate supporting documentation, to smdt.adm@tudublin.ie and the module lecturer by the end of September of the academic session. The exemption will be considered by the programme admissions board and the outcome communicated to the student and to TU Dublin's Fees Department, if approved and if a refund is due. All details of the financial implications of the exemptions are available at: http://www.dit.ie/studentservices/feesandgrants/exemptions/

For students who previously completed the CPD Diplomas in BIM Technologies and Collaborative BIM a standardised process of RPL is available and can be accessed by communicating with the School of Multidisciplinary Technologies at smdt.adm@tudublin.ie.
