Maple School P.E. will be using the latest Bluetooth-Enabled Heart Rate Monitor Technology from Polar (when in-person learning returns to full capacity). Each student will wear a heart rate monitor during select P.E. classes. The students and P.E. teachers will be able to monitor their heart rate during activity. The student's heart rates can be shown as a projection in the gym, on the Apple TVs in the fitness center, and students will see their heart rate on the watches themselves.
P.E. teachers will also be able to access student heart rates with their iPad as needed.
Each student will wear a comfortable wristband fitness tracker. The students will be taught how to properly wear the wristband fitness tracker in class before their first use. Each student will be responsible for their own wristband. Since wristbands will be shared throughout the day, they will be cleaned and sanitized before each use to ensure the health and safety of all learners. We believe the use of heart rate monitors will continue to help students understand physical fitness and create an understanding of a more individualized lifelong fitness plan.
