Dual Credit Chemistry Blended
Course Description
Dual Credit Chemistry is equivalent to McHenry County College’s Introductory Chemistry 164. This laboratory course teaches the fundamentals of inorganic chemistry. Topics include measurement, atomic theory, nomenclature, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, solution chemistry, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, and nuclear chemistry. The course does not assume any previous coursework in chemistry. It also serves as a preparatory course for students who plan on a career in allied health or nursing. Students successsfull completing this course will be able to receive college credit by requesting a transcript from MCC. In addition, this course counts as science credit towards an Associate of Arts degree in the program between MCC and Huntley High School.
Open to 11th and 12 grade students

Prerequisite: “C” or better in Algebra I and a GPA of at least 2.6 as determined by MCC.
