Conceptual Physics Honors

Course Description

This is an introductory science course in high school physics introducing the concepts that control the physical world around us while also applying mathematical models to the situations. Topics covered in this course include: engineering practices, experimental design, energy, one dimensional and two-dimensional motion, forces, momentum, field forces, electromagnetism and waves. This course is taught utilizing demonstrations and laboratory investigations to introduce and reinforce concepts. An emphasis is placed on observing and explaining physical phenomena as it relates to physics both conceptually and mathematically.

Open to 10th and 11th grade students
