Pear Deck
What is Pear Deck?
Pear Deck is an add-on used in conjunction with Google Slides to create engaging and interactive presentations for use with your students and as a formative assessment tool. Pear Deck includes a library of templates to support learning objectives typically found at the beginning, middle, and end of a class. There are multiple question types including text, number response, multiple choice, drawing, and draggable response types. Students’ answers can be displayed anonymously on the classroom projector, so instead of worrying about getting the right answer and feeling silly in front of peers, your students are putting ideas out there in a safe, anonymous way, discussing, and learning from each other.
How to Install the Google Slides add-on
1. Open a Google Slides file (blank one or existing)
2. Click the "Add-ons" Menu
3. Click "Get Add-ons"
4. Search for "Pear Deck"
5. Click "Install"
(Now when you open the Add-ons Menu, you'll see that Pear Deck is an Add-on you can use.)
Further instructions are found on the Getting Started page from Pear Deck.
