Professional Learning Goal #1: LEAP
By December '23 LEAP, DHCS's goal for each subject is:
25% or below students who score an Unsatisfactory
15% or below students who score an Approaching Basic
Action steps:
Administered IA 1 that is a mock LEAP for all subjects.
Starting our Exit Ticket Protocol Analysis earlier
Intentional and consistent intervention coaching
Targeted after school academic support for identified scholars
Focused on our Growth to Mastery Data (knowing what scholars need to meet their goal.)
Action step 2:
Students are using ZEARN Math to help facilitate lessons with students. The goal is for students to use Zearn for 90 minutes per week and complete 3 lessons! 2nd and 6th grade combined had almost 60% of students complete 3 lessons in 1 week!
We are off to a good start with using Zearn during the math intervention blocks! Take a look at the student lesson completion reports from week 2 compared to week 3:
Professional Learning Goal #2: Dibels
Decrease the percentage of students in intensive support category by 25% from 22-23 to 23-24.

Data Informed Instruction is the middle school focus this week. Last week we set our students up to own their data, teaching them their LEAP achievement levels and individual growth targets for ELA and Math. This week, we want to live and breathe data by doing the following:
Science/Social Studies teachers, although there is no assigned growth target for your subject areas there is a place where students should spend a few minutes talking through their LEAP achievement level and brainstorm how to progress to the next achievement level
Spotlight posters must be updated by Tuesday, September 12th
All teachers should think of ways to incorporate growth targets or LEAP data into instruction
Ex: Mr. Wilson gives students growth targets from the exit ticket data he receives which motivates scholars to improve each time they are assessed
Student 1-1 check-ins should be intentional. How can you prioritize students who are in the approaching basic category?
Student data trackers/sheet protectors can be picked up starting Monday (Salley’s bookshelf). Every Friday during 1-1 check-ins, students should fill in grades on their data trackers. Grade levels should own reprinting as needed.
