As part of our mission to make Every Day Better for Everyone through safety, we are rolling out two powerful features — previously available only in Mexico — across Argentina, Colombia, and Chile: PAX Verification at Sign-Up and the In-Trip Recording (ITR) tool.
These updates reinforce the safety ecosystem we’ve been building since 2020, offering even more protection and peace of mind to riders and drivers alike.
Remember when we introduced Safety PAX Verification a few months ago? This feature ensures that all new passengers verify their identity before requesting their first trip. The goal? Build trust and prevent fraud — giving drivers more confidence with every ride.
After successfully launching in Mexico, we’re now expanding this feature to Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. It’s a major milestone in our mission to create safer connections across the SSL region — and a big win for our community.
As if that weren’t enough, we’re also introducing a feature that was previously only available in Mexico: In-Trip Recording. This allows both drivers and passengers to record audio during their trips:
🎧 Manual Mode: Records just the current trip
🔁 Automatic Mode: Stays on for all trips until turned off
The feature is designed to deter inappropriate behavior and can provide evidence in case of a safety report.
All audio recordings are securely encrypted and stored in DiDi’s system. If no safety incident is reported, the recording is automatically deleted after 30 days. However, if a report is filed, it may be retained for up to 5 years to support any necessary investigations.
DiDi is committed to protecting personal data and strictly complies with applicable laws and international privacy standards.
As always, DiDi remains committed to making every ride safer and more enjoyable for all. Stay tuned for more updates as we keep rolling out new features to enhance your experience on the platform!
Let's continue making Every Day Better for everyone!
