DGS is being built from the ground up, both literally--a new building--and educationally, We opened in 2019 with Grade 6 only and now serve grades 6, 7 and 8. We will continue to grow over the next six years “building” global citizens of the future to our first graduating class in June 2026. Our “backward planning” curriculum design model will draw learning goals and student outcomes from the leading schools in the world.
Our instructional strategies and assessment techniques are fundamentally informed by research in the “science of learning” and its practical applications. Our professional development is enhanced and led in part by consultants experienced in best practices internationally regarding pedagogy, curriculum design, and performance-based and formative assessment.
The Middle School curriculum includes immersive English language learning integrated into challenging and innovative disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies with “learning how to learn” a primary focus.
DGS meets all Vietnamese government requirements in middle school, while also providing an array of co-curricular offerings in arts, design and technology and wellness, all in English. We anticipate expanding our experiential learning out in the community and beyond the city of Hanoi.
The High School program will offer several academic tracks including the IB-DP and special classes in entrepreneurship, design thinking, scientific research, video storytelling, and an array of internship opportunities and experiences in Hanoi and elsewhere. Students will be prepared to apply to the best international colleges and universities as well as those in Vietnam.
