Dear East Families,

Tuesday, April 13th - 7th grade STAAR Writing Test

DeSoto ISD will administer the 7th grade STAAR Writing assessment on April 14th, 2021. The STAAR test will only be given on campus with students testing in person, as there is no “at home” option. However, parents of virtual students may opt out of testing if they choose. The East Middle School testing schedule is below. We will require social distancing with limitations on the number of students per room and use PPE to ensure a safe environment. Students will be required to wear their masks at all times.

7th grade students will take the Writing Exam on:

Tuesday, April 13th

Students are required to bring the device that has been checked out to them by the district fully charged and ready to test. If the district device is broken, please return it for repair. Students should also bring their chargers. Please do not bring personal devices as they cannot be used to access the test. If your student does not have a device, one will be provided for them for the day. The tests are offered online at the campus only. Students will not be able to take the tests from home. If they are not able to come to campus, there will be no negative effect on grades or attendance as long as their work on Schoology is completed in a timely manner.

Please complete the short info survey if you plan for your student to take the 7th grade STAAR Writing test on April 13th, 2021: https://rb.gy/zwmbcp
