Greetings East Families!

We want to welcome all of our 6th-grade students who will be returning to campus tomorrow on October 19, 2020. Please ensure that your child reports to campus with their mask, Chromebook, charger, water bottle, pen/pencil, and a composition notebook. We are expecting your scholar by 8:30 am. Please make provision for your scholar to arrive a few minutes earlier for a Grab and Go breakfast to start their day. The school day will end by 4:20 pm and students are required to leave campus immediately after dismissal. Remember there will not be district-issued transportation to or from school. Please see our campus schedule for all students below.

The enrollment window for Campus-Supervised learning has officially closed for this 6 weeks. If you have not elected to enroll for campus supervised learning at this time, the chart below shows the windows and start dates for the upcoming 6 week grading periods. If you would like to sign up for future Campus-Supervised learning dates, please go to the link below. Due to COVID-19 concerns, you will be allowed to switch to home-supervised learning at any time. However, once you elect the home supervised learning option, your student cannot return to campus until the next open window.

As a result of Dallas County and DeSoto ISD, risk levels moving to red, district families whose students have opted into campus-supervised learning can update their student learning preference to home-supervised learning until the conclusion of the next six weeks learning cycle on November 20, 2020, via the survey below.

We want to thank you again for partnering with us to ensure an optimal learning experience for your scholar.

Thank you,

Travis Anderson, Principal

DeSoto East Middle School Students,

We would like to use this opportunity to let you know that the Band program at East Middle School is reaching out to all current 6th and 7th graders at DeSoto East MS who might be interested in participating in the Band program this school year. We offer classes that teach you how to play Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba and Percussion (Drums).

We currently have room available in all instrument classes. We not only teach our students to play an instrument, but we also teach students to compose their own music. You do not need to know how to play an instrument or know how to read music in order to join. We will teach you everything you need to know. Come have fun and enjoy a yearlong experience in one our outstanding Band classes at DeSoto East!

If you are interested in joining the East Band please send an email with your full name, grade, student ID and a good phone number to reach your parent or guardian. Someone from the Band will call you and schedule an appointment to help select your instrument.

Thank you,

DeSoto East Band

Please note our teachers are recording sessions, and we have transcripts with login info for every person that accesses a Zoom class.
