STAAR Interim Testing

Dear Parents,

DeSoto ISD will administer the STAAR Interim Assessments during the first three weeks of February 2021. These tests will only be given on campus with students testing in person. Our East Middle School testing schedule is below. In addition to being a STAAR practice this will inform our district on where students stand and what interventions or help they need to stay on target. We will be social distancing with limits on the number of students per room and using PPE to ensure a safe environment. Students should wear their mask and will be required to wear them at all times.

Students are required to bring the device that has been checked out to them by the district fully charged and ready to test. They should also bring their chargers. If they do not have a device, one will be provided for them. The tests are offered online at the campus only. Students will not be able to take the tests from home. If they are not able to come to campus, there will be no negative effect on grades or attendance as long as their work on Schoology is completed in a timely manner.

Thank you,

Travis Anderson, Principal

Virtual Student Behavior Reminder

We have had some students to say, post, and do some inappropriate things in the live classroom. Thank you to the parents that either helped the teacher, or called me... it does take a village!

Zoom bombing, profanity, lewd language or gestures, and other obscenities are not allowed. Please note our teachers are recording sessions, and we have transcripts with login info for every person that accesses a Zoom class. Parents please partner with us to remind students that this behavior will not be tolerated, and inappropriate behavior does come with consequences.
