What is A-G?

The A-G Requirements are outlined by the University of California and California State University systems as the minimum coursework students must complete to maintain eligibility for UC/CSU Admission. 

• Area A: Social Science - 2 Years Required

  • US History CP, IB History of the Americas HL1, World History CP, and World History HP all meet this requirement.

• Area B: English - 4 Years Required

  • All CP, HP, SL, and HL levels of English Language and Literature meet this requirement. 

• Area C: Mathematics - 3 Years Required, 4 Years Recommended

  • Math I CP, Compacted Math Year 1 & 2, Math II CP/HP, Math III CP, Dual Enrollment Math, IB Math SL, and AP Calculus AB/BC all meet this requirement.

• Area D: Laboratory Science - 2 Years Required

  • Physics CP/IB SL, Geoscience Explorations, Chemistry CP/HP, Biology CP, and IB Biology HL all meet this requirement. 

• Area E: Foreign Language - 2 Years Required

  • All foreign language classes at LQHS meet this requirement. 

• Area F: Visual and Performing Arts - 1 Year Required
