Aim
Every faculty at Derby Moor has a named Careers Champion. This could be any member of staff who is interested in developing the profile of careers within their faculty.
Role
To receive all careers related opportunities that come into the school that might benefit the faculty, from the Careers Leader.
To discuss with Faculty Head/LD if it is an opportunity that the team would like to take on
To decide with the team who will take the lead on any particular activity
To communicate with the Careers Leader any activities that the team wish to commit to and identify dates, times and groups etc
To support the lead person, ensuring all procedures are in place i.e calendar requests, staffing, rooming, students involved and communication with visitors
To increase the profile of careers on the careers section of the website
The Careers Leader will be available to support with any of the above and is keen to emphasise that this should not be an onerous task but one that provides an opportunity for someone to broaden their experience and the profile of the faculty within the school.
The six-step process designed to support development of curriculum projects in partnership with employers is the result of hundreds of thousands of pounds of investment and several years of progressive development work.
