DAY 7: New Life, Dying and Rising
My Lord Jesus, I beg for the grace of humility, patience and pleading to hand over to God my life and my concerns and to see that it is only by the power of the resurrection that impossible situations get transformed.
POINTS:
1. When we look back at those key moments of change, new life and genuine happiness in our lives, we notice that they were preceded by difficulty and burden to the point where we felt that we were dying.
2. The only solid foundation: Jesus’ experience on the Cross. The template of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection.
3. “There are very few people who realize what God would make of them if they abandoned themselves into his hands, and let themselves be formed by his grace.” (St. Ignatius of Loyola)
1. Luke 24: 5. The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the angels said to them, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.’
2. John 7: 38. And let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’
3. Romans 6: 4. Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised form the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
1. What are the moments of ‘dying’ in your life?
2. What the moments of ‘rising’ in your life?
3. Where has God been present in these?
