DAY 4: Transforming Failure
My Lord Jesus, I beg for the grace of abandoning myself to the Father as you found yourself saying: “Into your hands, O Lord”; handing over my failures to you to have them transformed and trusting against all odds that the power of God will transform my situation.
POINTS:
1. One of the few certainties of life is this: we will make mistakes.
2. Mistakes are to be learned from and grown out of. Stories of failures turned success stories.
3. The God of second chances. How wonderful to have a God who falls on our neck and kisses us when mess up and ask for his forgiveness! What should be my response?
a. Live with profound sense of gratitude. How are you? Better than I deserve.
b. Make my life mission my top priority.
c. Don’t delay. Obey God.
d. Accept my responsibility to warn others.
e. Expect God to use me.
1. Luke 15: 11-32. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran and put his arms around him and kissed him.
2. Jeremiah 8: 4. Thus says the Lord: When people fall, do they not get up again? If they go astray, do they not turn back?
3. Proverbs 3: 5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your won insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
