DAY 5: Mustard Seed
My Lord Jesus, I beg for the grace of recognizing the almost imperceptible changes (mustard seed moment) and see that though small, are part of the ultimate change that is huge changing not only our lives but even the world.
POINTS:
1. One thing that can cause us frustration in life is when we expect to see big changes in the tough situations that we face only to find that those big changes are not forthcoming.
2. Changes happen in small imperceptible moments.
3. Mustard seed moments versus Cannon ball moments.
1. Matthew 13: 31-32. Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is fully grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.
2. Philippians 3: 7-11. I have come to consider all the advantages I had as disadvantages; I look upon everything as rubbish.
3. Philippians 4: 10-13. I know how to be poor or rich and now I am ready for anything with the help of God.
1. Do you have any ‘mustard see moments’ in your life presently?
2. But remember, mustard burns when we eat it. Are you prepared for the fact that making ‘mustard seed moments’ might come at some personal cost and even some discomfort?
3. Can you wait with patience for events to play themselves out?
