The 2025 State of the School Address served not only as a platform for sharing milestones and challenges but also as a call to strengthen collaboration among educators, parents, and stakeholders in preparing learners for a brighter future.
February 21, 2025 – The recently concluded State of the School Address (SOSA), led by Dr. Sarah J. Colarina, highlighted both the accomplishments of the school and the challenges it faces as it prepares for the upcoming school year.
In her report, Dr. Colarina underscored the school’s progress in several key areas. She noted improvements in student performance as shown in assessments such as the National Achievement Test (NAT 2024), the Comprehensive Reading and Literacy Assessment (CRLA), the Test of Fundamental Academic Skills (TOFAS), and the Rapid Mathematics Assessment (RMA). Reading programs and partnerships were also credited for strengthening students’ literacy skills.
The school was commended for its efficient use of funds, with donations from Brigada Eskwela and proceeds from the canteen utilized to enhance facilities and programs. Teachers likewise benefited from various training sessions and learning activities that helped them improve their teaching skills. In addition, the school earned recognition through awards in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities.
Looking ahead to School Year 2025–2026, Dr. Colarina acknowledged several challenges. Two buildings are scheduled for renovation throughout the year, which will lead to temporary classroom shortages and the need for shifting schedules from one to two sessions per day. The school is also anticipating a lack of teachers as some are set to retire, with new hires delayed until after the election period. Another area of concern is student discipline, particularly in promoting responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in comfort rooms.
Despite these hurdles, Dr. Colarina assured the community that the school is taking steps to address the issues. With the support of teachers, parents, and stakeholders, she emphasized that the school remains steadfast in its commitment to deliver quality education and ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.
