Kickstarting Professional Growth for SY 2025–2026!
The Math–ESP Department, headed by Mrs. Melinda De Mesa (Head Teacher III), successfully launched the first Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session for School Year 2025–2026 last July 17, 2025 . The session featured Mrs. Mylyn D. De Torres (Master Teacher II) as the resource speaker, who delivered an insightful talk on “Presenting a Mathematics Program Designed to Develop Learners’ Knowledge and Skills Across Ability Levels.”
Although the session focused on Mathematics, it was equally engaging for participating ESP teachers, who took the opportunity to explore interdisciplinary strategies and reflect on how differentiated instruction and inclusive learning approaches can also be applied in values education. The collaborative atmosphere and shared insights set a strong tone for continuous professional development across departments.

DM 089, S. 2025, Guidelines for The Multi-Year Performance Management and Evaluation System (PMES) For Teachers
LAC Session 4, held on October 16, 2025, at AASMNHS, provided teachers with a meaningful opportunity to better understand the transition to the Multi-Year Performance Management and Evaluation System (PMES) as outlined in DM 089, s. 2025. The session, facilitated by Ms. Jenny Ann D. Villaluna and led by Mrs. Melinda D. De Mesa, created a supportive learning environment where teachers could explore the key differences between the previous RPMS and the new PMES framework. Through a clear and practical discussion, participants gained insights into important components such as the Electronic Self-Assessment Tool (ESAT), updated classroom observation indicators, and the overall structure of performance evaluation across multiple years. What made the session especially valuable was the opportunity for open dialogue, where teachers freely raised questions, shared concerns, and clarified uncertainties about the new system. By the end of the session, participants felt more informed, reassured, and better prepared to adapt to the changes, seeing PMES not just as a requirement, but as a tool for continuous professional growth and improvement.

Enhancing Learning Through Effective Use of Teaching and Learning Resources and ICT
On November 20, 2025, teachers of AASMNHS participated in LAC Session 5, titled “Enhancing Learning through Effective Use of Teaching-Learning Resources and ICT,” aimed at equipping educators with strategies to improve classroom instruction through the purposeful integration of instructional materials and technology. Facilitated by Mrs. Meilyn Malaguit and led by resource speaker Mrs. Mylyn De Torres, the session provided practical guidance on how to make lessons more engaging, interactive, and aligned with learning objectives. Mrs. De Torres demonstrated ways to utilize both traditional and digital resources, including multimedia tools and interactive platforms, to support diverse learners, foster collaboration, and promote critical thinking. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining sound pedagogical practices while leveraging ICT to enhance—not replace—teaching. The session concluded with an open discussion where teachers raised questions, shared experiences, and clarified concerns about integrating technology and resources effectively. Overall, the activity was informative and timely, leaving participants better prepared to create dynamic and effective learning environments.

AI- Driven Instruction in Mathematics and Values Education: Leveraging Gemini AI and Canva AI for Innovative Teaching and Learning
The 6th LAC Session held on December 15, 2025, at Anselmo A. Sandoval Memorial National High School brought teachers from the Mathematics and Values departments together to explore how AI tools like Gemini and Canva AI can support more engaging and creative teaching. The session flowed smoothly from registration and opening activities into a meaningful discussion led by Mrs. Wennie C. Albania, who shared practical ways AI can help in creating lessons, solving problems, and designing visually appealing materials. What stood out most was the emphasis on using AI as a helpful partner rather than a replacement, especially in preserving the human connection in Values Education. The open forum encouraged honest conversations about ethics and responsible use, making the session both insightful and relatable. By the end of the day, teachers left feeling more confident, inspired, and excited to bring these new ideas into their classrooms.
